Unified Messaging part 2

By clarewordpress

When you press the star key  , the service automatically plays you a tutorial to help you set up your mailbox.
The tutorial asks you to do three things, which are explained below:
Ÿ Choose a passcode
Ÿ Record a personal greeting
Ÿ Record your name announcement
Choosing a passcode

This is very important, as this puts a private passcode on your mailbox that only you know, ensuring that only you have access to your mailbox to receive and send messages. A passcode can be any range of numbers from one to seven digits long. Please remember your passcode must be numeric only. You cannot use the hash key   or the star key  . Make sure the number is easy for you to remember but hard for anyone else to guess.
When entering your passcode, you must use the keys on the telephone keypad, remembering to press the hash key  , when you are finished. Do not try to speak your passcode, as the service will not recognise it.

Recording a personal greeting

The service asks you to record a personal greeting, which is the message callers hear when they dial your telephone number. It is also what you hear the next time you access your mailbox. Please consult your service administrator to check your maximum time limit for the recording of your greeting.
An example of a personal greeting is:
Hi, you have reached the Terqw messaging service of Gordon Bennett. If you would like to leave me a detailed message, I will return your call as soon as possible. Thanks for calling.
There is no need to say,

At the tone leave your message
as the service prompts the caller to do that for you.

When you have finished recording your greeting, you must press   to tell the service you have finished speaking. The service will play your greeting back to you and will give you the option to re-record or keep what you have just recorded.
Recording your Name Announcement
Your Name Announcement is a recording of your name in your own voice used to identify your mailbox to other Terqw subscribers.

State your first and last name, and press   when finished. Once you have done this you are given the option to re-record or keep what you have just recorded.
Once you have completed the three steps of the tutorial, the service gives you some information on how to use your mailbox and takes you to the Main Menu, where you can choose from a menu of options.
Note: It is important to remember that you must complete the tutorial all the way through before hanging up, otherwise you will have to go through it all again the next time you try to access your mailbox.

3.1.3 Subsequent access

The next time you call your mailbox to send or retrieve messages, you hear the personal greeting you recorded during the tutorial. At any time while the service is playing this message, you must press the star key   on your telephone keypad to interrupt it, in order to access your mailbox.
This lets the service know it is you that is calling. The service then asks you to enter the passcode that you chose during the tutorial.
Providing you have entered this correctly, the service takes you to the Main Menu of your mailbox and tells you how many new messages you have.
Note: If you have forgotten or lost your security passcode, you need to call your administrator who can reset this for you.
To access the Main Menu, dial your extension or DDI number, press the star key   during your greeting and then enter your security passcode. From the Main Menu, choose from the following options:
